Is Price Really A No-Brainer?

Do most people stop to think about the life cycle of their furniture? The price card trumps longevity in many cases - but do the math - if a sofa that is made properly and aesthetically designed to outlast fads were to last three times as long as one purchased only for it's low price, then not only is the landfill spared of excess waste, but the higher-priced sofa then becomes the lower-priced one over time. One might also conclude the better sofa will be enjoyed more and be comfortable for longer. This determination can be applied to almost all consumables. Maybe it even becomes a no-brainer.
